Is C# a popular programming language right now?
I would very much like to know how popular C# is now.

Sergey Lavrov I typically don't put much stock in those indexes as they historically don't align with my own anecdotal experiences over the past 24+ years.
That said... I can say that in my market, in the USA, C# has always been in high demand at the enterprise development level since it was released.
While demand has steadily grown through the years, it's stronger than ever with the wide range of development scenarios and multi-platform support with .NET Core / .NET Standard / ASP.NET MVC + WebAPI / and Xamarin. Other projects like Blazor for WASM further strengthen demand.
Despite Martin Taylor's point about C# being the scripting language for the Unity Game Engine, make no mistake about it... Unity games are written in C#, compiled to .NET CIL, then from there, compiled to C++, and finally compiled to machine code.
Also, Unity is rewriting the engine from the ground up, moving to a proprietary High Performance C# compiler that will eliminate C++ from the toolchain by compiling from .NET CIL to native.

C# may not be as popular as Python but C# is used more by professionals while Python is used more by beginners. There are also a lot more beginners and students than professionals I think which generally boosts the popularity of languages like Python over languages like C#.
