What should i learn for IOT project

I have to make an embedded systems IOT project for my college. Please tell me what i should learn for such a project. I have started learning HTML other than that what else is needed.

I see you are on the wrong path from the start! Write the name of the project and the used platform to get more help. Maybe you use Atmel AVR, or Arduino, or ESP32, etc. Anyway, you need to master the C programming language and some intermediary knowledge of microelectronics. Then some framework for this MCU and maybe a few network protocols as TCP, WiFi, MQTT.
