Can We Use PHP Instead Of JavaScript While Developing A Website?

I know nothing about them, i want to know are they both related?... Because i read on internet that wordpress is made using only one language i.e PHP.. So Iam getting confused that can we create such dynamic website with just one single language(PHP)...

No. You cannot use PHP on the front end. PHP cannot run in a browser.

PHP is the only server side language used to make WordPress but not the only language. JavaScript, HTML, CSS are used on the frontend. TinyMCE editor used jQuery. Guttenberg uses React.
