Python is more used due to its popularity, and Python is good at readability while Ruby is used for dynamic typing and use (logic), However if you were to ask me I would say both It's like adding 6 + 4 and 5 + 5 which both outputs 10

python is more used today, even by google company. Don't forget, with python you can do basic Machine Learning by adding some library like scikit-learn or tensorflow with just less than 10 lines code.

Python is more used then ruby (in image processing, coding, ...) but in web development, Ruby on Rails is more used then the framework of Python (i.e Django). Well Django is used too, but you should learn them both because of their simplicity and large community.
