If you are total beginner then I highly recommend to follow this book "Android Programming:The Big Nerd Ranch Guide" by Chris Stewart. Android Programming is not only writing codes. You have to follow all the guidelines if you wanna become a good developer. They explained all the basic things amazingly. You can also start an online course in Coursera, or Udacity.
