Sharing knowledge by profesionals

I've seen in companies many programmers who are not willing to share their knowledge to newbies or maybe they can't explain very well.
What so you think? What is your experience?

Well, many of those people have too much greed.
I even have encountered programmers who want money if they are going to share some useful knowledge. And that's why i decided to learn the things by myself.
And still, there are things which you can't just learn from books and etc.
Those things come from experience, which many greedy programmers don't really want to share.
I would really love to share my knowledge with people, but the thing is that with the theory i'm not really good, but still am a very good programmer.
But this exact thing stops me from being a lector, which i really want to be.
