Help and advice needed!

Hi,
I've just started learning, I've been using sololearn as well as freecodecamp to learn as much as I can however am unsure how is best to do this, I want to get a job as a web developer however due to not doing a degree I'm unsure of how it would be best to apply and properly show employers that I am capable and know what I am doing?

To show off what you can do, create a portfolio page. Link previous built websites there and get creative with the UI/UX on the portfolio site.

That sounds like a good plan, Should I be focussed solely on websites and proving I know as much as I can about that or would it be good to create mobile apps etc as well to show that I can do a range of different things?
