You can become a great programmer without knowing advanced mathematics.
On the flip side, if you want to become a low-level programmer or say create 3D graphics engines, mathematics will play a huge role.

I think you are familiar with addition/subtraction/multiplication/modulo ..these are only required..get a basic knowledge in Java ..enof..no company would expect more from a fresher but a logical skills.
