API is just a communicator...which one is used to transferring data one Programming language to another Programming language 🙄🙄 .coz approximately every Programming lang. can read Json formate file ... so you can easily transfer / use your any information in Any programming language through the API ...... if you want to use/fetch any information from the server u need API đŸ„±to access that information in your Website /App / or in programming languages đŸ„± if you want to work only with your data and code then u don't need to learn API đŸ„± and API is very simple đŸ„±not a hard process đŸ„±đŸ„±

The context of this question (and the question itself) isn't clear and several of the answers posted seem to reflect a range of different interpretations. Some answers here refer to APIs of external services via HTTP Requests. Others seem to refer to APIs within package libraries or perhaps an entire framework for building web applications. However, when I read this vaguely worded question, my initial thought was this is referring to the DOM API or even various Browser APIs available per the HTML5 specs. These Browser APIs are quite often referred to as HTML5 APIs or Web APIs. The list of such APIs cover a vast range of different interfaces that can be interacted with. To answer your question (rephrased as), "Is it important to learn HTML5 APIs?" Um... it depends. If you ask my wife or kids, who do nothing related to building websites or programming in general, it's of zero importance to them. For someone making extensive use of these various APIs, it's of great importance.
