I want to learn socket programming in C++

Question

I want to learn and make socket based application in C++ so I searched on google and result suggests me boost asio library for making sockets based application but the the documentation is hard to me so what can I do and it's make me a headache

I don't know if there is, I just heard/read people say C/C++ was "closer" to hardware. So I thought they would be the preferred language to develop networking tools.

I just wanna know why you said "C/C++ ain't made for that", why these languages isn't good choice, that's all.
