Each SQL and NoSQL has their own pros and cons. NoSQL was not meant as replacement for SQL nor to "kill" it. Choose one that suits your project requirements.

yes it is worth to learn SQL, as long as relational database systems are in play. SQL has its own use cases to achieve it
