can i make voice detector and recognization in python?

Question

i want to develop a code which will hear and recognize the owner only and reply accordingly.
it will detect the unique natural voice of the owner.
i want to apply it in smart doors.the door will open only when the owner speaks password!!
and threats the burglar if he tries for multiple times!!!

Cool. That will be possible but I do not know if python is not to slow for it. But you can try it with python and then convert in another language for example for android or an embedded solution.
