Cant save database in mssql as bak file

Question

Hi, i wanna save my db as bak file. My procedure is task > backup > then save the name with extension .bak.

But then the file cant be use if i wanna try to restore it. I have tried to save it without extension, and as a plain file. Then edit the name w extension .bak, still not working. Anyone know how to fix this? A link would work

Is this MySQL? not MSSQL?
Can you be more descriptive about "the file can't be used if I wanna try to restore it." part? what error was displayed when you try?

Ipang the error stated 'restore of database xxx failed'. There is a video said i need to change the setting in bak file's properties > security. But still not working

Does it work if you backup the data into a .sql file or others? I had to ask to be certain that this is a problem specific to .bak file.
