The more I dig into C++, the more I feel as if I'm just scrapping the surface of a celestial body. Can you learn the total? Yes, given that you are learning faster than the language expanding/growing in size. But even that would take a lot of time.

it's been many years now that i'm learning PHP and still to this day discovering more and more about it. Learning everything when in comes to basic is sure important but then you'll have frameworks, libraries, good practices in which you'll have to be selective and learn what fits your needs. So yeah my friend, you shouldn't seek to learn everything but only what you deem as necessary. you'll find out znd discover more about your chosen language gradually. This applies for any given language.
