I don't know what you mean by "Lytton" but Python is just a programming language like any other. You can put every code you like projects on Github (as long as it doesn't violate law or terms of use)
Github is just a place the store and share your code.

Github is used to store codes.
There is way to use its website and create repository and add your codes. Or you can use CMD, terminal or similar... Check its site to learn more about it.
Also version of Python or any other language is not important.
