First of all, relevant tags are important!! You didn't mention C# or Python in your question, but they show up in your tags. That's like false advertising, isn't it?

To learn game development or just coding in general, I would recommend at least having basic operator knowledge(adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, exponents, etc.), and anything after that might not be completely necessary(although will be useful).. but it really depends on many factors.
