Remainder?

I don't understand remainder means can some one explain with example?

This is from an article I found from the internet, "An amount left over after division (happens when the first number does not divide exactly by the other). Example: 19 cannot be divided exactly by 5. The closest you can get without going over is 3 x 5 = 15, which is 4 less than 19. So 4 is the remainder" Hope you get something out of it.

Remainder is simple math. When you divide any integer like, if you do 12/4... the answer you will get is your remainder (which is 0). You multiply 4×3 (to get 12). Hope this helps you.
