Changing the style of the CSS stylesheet with jQuery

Anyone knows how to change the style of the CSS stylesheet with jQuery, but not using the css() method, because it just adds a style attribute and styles inside it, it doesn't change the style in css stylesheet absolutely.

Yes. Because I have some problems with : hover and :before pseudoclasses.
