defining the <div> tag !

Question

I didn't actually got this tag <div> . It would be helpful if someone explaines me how it works , where to use and stuff like that . i see its the most used tags in a webpage .

<div> tag is container for your content, u can name it with classes i will giv u a link where u can find all the info that u need : http://getbootstrap.com/examples/jumbotron-narrow/
