I don't see why not, as long as you stay committed even when facing failure, and continue to practice/learn. Age really doesn't matter if you have the motivation.
As long as you aren't quitting your current career if you have one. Stick to your current and program as a hobby for a transition so you'd be able to decide if programming is really for you.

Yes. it's never too late to start programming, so take your leas and focus
