Will there ever be a better/more popular search engine than Google?

Before Facebook there were tons of other social network platforms and it somehow managed to dominate the market.

Do you think there will be a better web search engine than Google someday?

What do you think Google currently lacks in terms of UI, UX, algorithms, results?

Could Ecosia.org or any other search engine become more popular and take Google's throne?

I think if someone was to make a better or more popular search engine they would have to work extremely hard and be very innovative.

Given that google has a great R & D program and has billions of users for collecting data on what works and doesn't work.

Although often criticised, Google is still the most popular search engine. But the day will come that someone invites a better or more convenient search engine. Google itself knows that, they're searching for alternative businesses.

google is damn rich.. like facebook they buy any company which becomes a threat for them. they make sure that no engine becomes popular.
