The text which is droped some distance below the text line are subscripted text.
For example:- like when we write H2O in our chemistry notebook (2) is written little down the text line in HTML , to write (2) like that we use subscripted text.
The text which is raised some distance above the text line are superscripted text.
For example:- In mathematics when we use to write powers of any integer like ,2×2=(2)2.
So the 2 written after(2) at raised distance from text line.
