A "5:5" draw should not break a streak for the Epic badge
Before the end of January 2017 any draw did not break a streak for the Epic badge. Maybe it was quite easy to obtain the badge then. Later rules changed. And now you need to be very careful in opponent selection to become epic. Or if you are not, even a seeming inexperienced newbie may ruin your staircase to the award. Shouldn't the rules be tuned? Otherwise the badge should be renamed to Schemer :)

This new rule seems to make the challenges less challenging for more experienced challengers, since now they have to make sure not to challenge anyone their skill level for fear of the 5:5 draw.

Idk the reasons why the rules were changed. Maybe it was too easy to achieve this badge. Your only chance to get the official answer is to contact SoloLearn and ask them.
Feel free to submit this as a change request to SoloLearn, too.

me I support you (100%), 'cause 50 challenges 46 wins and 4 draws 5:5... still no epic badge and many newbies decline when I challenge them. WHY are they changed the rules??!!!!!!! ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

Okay, let's see what ppl say. I guess those who didn't achieve epic badge will support your request (more than 99%). The others don't care ^^
I vote for 'doesn't matter'.

It is more difficult to earn the epic badge now ๐ฃ

Now this badge shows not your coding (studying) skill but your "Luck skill". :-) Or renaming to "Schemer" (+newbies beater) is really a good choice. :)

@Alx vSeti Oh, man! It should be reported!
Update: posted about it here: https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/316956/?ref=app (a thread where moderators can see it, because subject of that thread is (/are) fake account(s))

I agree.

Initially I wanted to congratulate that person from my previous message on receiving the epic badge eventually. But after examining his playing history it turned out that the result was provided with help of his second account.

An alternative solution to the problem :)

More than 10 days have passed. I have not received any reply from SoloLearn.
A new month has begun. I have checked a history of some non-losing player, who has no worse then 5-scored draws for last >50 wins (some of them were today). He is not still epic. Thus rules have not changed.
So, want to be epic - hit the weak.

@Alx vSeti As I understand (or as I've noticed if I'm not mistaken) XPs for Badges acquired unfair are taken back, but badges are left untouched. Don't know why they do so... And sometimes there are no more of those fake accounts (second, third...) and I think Sololearn team deletes them, 'cause users must make some movements to delete their account, and I don't believe that cheaters are motivated to do so (but may be they want to wipe some traces...)

Hmm... and today I saw one sololearner (used cheating) from whom that badge was taken away! It's stated that he won/earned that badge in his "activity" feed but there are no those challenges (fake account was deleted, I think) and Epic badge isn't in his badges list. That's better, I think.

Andrew, how the reports are treated by SoloLearn? Marat Khudayberdin, for example, still has the epic badge
