Which programming language is best for maths

Hello guys i really like maths and i recently got interested in programming because it will help me further in my maths studies, so i've started with python because i heard it's easy and good at maths but a lot of internet forums say that mathematica, Matlab and fortran are way better. unfortunately i don't have the money to buy mathematica, neither do i have a license for Matlab and i find fortran to be hard. So is there any better programming language for maths than those or should i just stick with python? P.S: if you know a way to get free Matlab/mathematica then let me know

Octave is free version of Matlab. https://octave.org/ Scripting language is same. But it do not include the extra modules, so scripts written in Matlab and have dependances do not run in Octave.

I know a case of a friend who is doing a doctorate and when he needs computing power he uses FORTRAN and then, since Python is a glue language, he integrates it into Python with the appreciable difference in calculation speed

Whenever I see Matt Parker or 3Blue1Brown (My favorite Math focused Youtube Channels) talking about what they use when they need to do some coding, then the talk is always about Python.

Python is the best for Mathematics. It has statistics reviews on how you could get mean, std, variance, sum, min, max, 25th percentile, 50th and even the 75th. Even more it can use Fractions, when it comes to functions, you can create your own calculator. Like you can do a function to help you calculate force, distance in Analytical Geometry. If you get in deep, you will also know how to use it to integrate and derive for you. Ohh it can also plot graphs

I believe that Python is one of the best programming languages for mathematicians. In Python, you can both analyze data and perform operations on it. You just need to understand a little.

Don't use COBOL. Sometimes knowing what not to use for a job is also useful
