Best beginner language?

Question

what's the best beginning language? I wanted to make an iOS and many sites and tutorials recommended c++ but I'm still new to programming, I'm starting to think attacking such a large object does not have the small victories so to say,(expeciall c++). to keep the encouragement going, anything recommended for a more basic start?
