This is only regarding general lists. It's always ranked highly but it's almost never first. The TIOBE lists the C family (C, C++, C#) and Java as being the top 4 with Python taking 5th. It's not the most popular but it's a good spot to be in. I hope it gets higher next time.

Simply, Python coding syntax is intended to make programmers' life easier. You'd do some complex task in less time with less effort and get the same result compare to other guys and just sacrificing a tiny bit of performance.

just kidding. the reason is because it's syntax is extremely easy to understand and it's power is literally limit less.....
here is the list of what you can do with Python

1. web page designing
2. Android/ iOS apps creating
3. machine learning
4. pattern recognition
5. algorithmic trading
6. data analysis
7. computer applications development
8. game development ( for mobile and computer as well...)

and these are the things that I have heard of. I think there might be many more uses of Python than these
