What languages should I learn to create a live messenger on web?

I'd like to make a messenger with accounts like facebook messenger or yahoo messenger. What should I learn. Could someone guide me?

So you'll definetly need to learn:
html/css
php
jscript(or another client based language)
Sql
Databank management
networking
it security
server administration
data privacy law
other laws depending on the server location.

I don't want to burst your bubble but i think this project has a pretty big scope for just one person that I assume is a biggener in this field.
