I want to move away from AutoIT, but where to?
I had a great run with AutoIT and i really enjoyed it, however it is not enough for my needs, I wish to code cross-platform and I wish to have the ability to use Threading, I have considered PHP since PHP7 and I have always been admiring C/C++, what would you recommend i learn in 2017?

Hi ! AutoIT is a script language. If you want to go ahead, try other script language like Perl or python.

Thank you for your reply, I already looked at Python and Perl, but I am more interested in getting started with another none "script" language so to speak, such as PHP because i like the fact you can run it from any device or C++ because I have heard great things about it overall, but then again I am unsure what I should choose, other languages might be what I want to go with, but i Wish to do more than scripting :)

Ok. But primary goal of php is webserver langage. You will be finally. With perl, you've got a very efficiency language for subroutines and text processing. With python, you can work on network, system, sockets, and create gui for this very easely. With ruby, you've got a great object oriented langage. And finally, the master of windows infrastructure langage powershell, who can manipulate in a same script different servers. Php can't do this... Try different courses on sololearn and i think you will understand.
