Why did my progress disappear?

Question

I was taking the 'Introduction to Python' course, and I had reached the conditional and loops quiz. When I was about to finish it, the page displayed an error saying that the page no longer existed. So, I refreshed the page, and... all my progress in the course disappeared, as if I never took the course. I'm a little frustrated because I was only two lessons away from getting the certificate. :(
