Python is a scripting language. The reason for that is because programming languages NEED to be compiled before use; while scripting languages require no compilation whatsoever.

python is a general purpose programming language why? from scientific computing to websites to GUIs python handles that

though it can also be used for scripting, remember a script is just a small program
