Html 5 and games?

Question

I have learned recently most browser based games are based on html 5, I wish to eventually be able to make such a game because when I was young I played many flash games, would this app give me tools needed to do this?

The java game course seems to be gone? I've done some searching and unfortunately can't find it

You can start with the HTML course, then do CSS, then JavaScript and then do the one from the link. That's enough to give the basis for web-based game development.
Once you've done all that and started writing some simpler games, you'll then be able to search and find more advanced things to achieve more complicated games.
