What projects require some/a lot knowledge about mathematics?

While I’m mostly self taught to the vast amount of knowledge I know about CS today, I am not sure if I should take on the challenge of learning these new math concepts ( Linear algebra, discrete math, graph theory ) on my own. I’m curious to know the general usage of any of these topics and projects that rely on knowledge of these fields.

In the domain of statistical analysis, machine learning, and even business intelligence, these math concepts can prove very useful. Graph theory could also be handy when you design non-relational databases, for example think about social networks, or blockchains.
