If you want you can take a look into my, so far, short Teaching C series. I'm adding more but I needed to work out some information before I continued, plus I want more people to catch onto it before it gets seriously deep:

@Abner Just FYI, C course has been requested by maaaaany SLers. You can weigh in by requesting this course via the feedback feature, though I believe SL already received enough letters for them to actually consider this.

@Ali Emir Kizil, newer isn't better, and they may be similar but they are not nearly the same.

Pls we really need C. I equally support the motion for C prog to be incorporated among the courses. Would be great esp. for us that are interested in Unix.

Ali, C and C++ have very different purposes, that's why C++ hasn't replaced C, it has expanded C.

1: C is a midle-level language which is the mother of lot's of other popular languages (Java, C++, PHP..)
2: It is useful for acessing low level features, while our high level languages are not able to do.
3: Still very used, classically with the combination of it's child, C++ for multiple sorts of development.
4: easy understanding of syntax, as it's reference to other languages, you'll be acquainted with other languages too.

While I'd like to learn C, I also wouldn't mind a shader language course.
I'm only saying this since I haven't been able to find any intuitive apps for learning GLSL, and that they're pretty intense compared to programming languages 😣.

C++ is newer and nearly same with C
