Hearts won't get refilled past 3

Question

Heart timer keeps resetting, so my hearts are stuck at 3. I had to quit Sololearn around one year ago because my hearts wouldn't get refilled after days. I started using it again yesterday to only find that my hearts have gotten refilled to 3. Now whenever I exit the app, just take a lesson, or whatever, the timer is back to 4 hours 58 minutes. This is frustrating. How can I fix this?

I learned from others that you must deliberately use up all three hearts. Then it will refill to 5 after the timeout.

One way or another, it seems the key is getting down to zero hearts. I did that after someone suggested it, though I don't know how many hours it took to reset. I couldn't check until 15 hours later.

Brian I'm sorry, bro. But my hearts just got refilled to 5 for free when I tried to start another course. The course offered to refill my hearts for free, so I just accepted it without thinking. And it worked. Now I can't find out whether your suggestion really works for my case since the 3 hearts limit has been broken.
