A header is a file which looks like "file.h", it can. e used for a variety of things but mainly people use it for classes and linking other, cpp files to tidy up their code and make it object orientated, it can also help as if there is a big project they can recompile only the cpp files they are working on then compile them into objects, this saves time as the compiler simply links them together and outputs the program rather than having to recompile everything because you changed one thing in one file, however I believe programs like cmake and make already do this. if I am wrong please correct me, I am very tired and likely wrong.
