can we use java to program Raspberry pi

i m learning java for last 4-5 months and keen to develop raspberry pi. can i use java to program raspberry pi

I have the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3 and I'm sure there is an IDE to develop in Java on there. I think it is called BlueJ or something?

the official language for the pi is Python but you can program with various languages with a pie, really almost anything you can do with a normal computer. what it really comes down to is howmuch support and the community for the language. i know there is support and libraries for java but i dont know to what extent there is but there definitely is. java is pretty popular so there is probably quite a bit of support gl with your programming :)
