Reasons why we code?

Why did you divulge into programming, what did you hope to achieve, and what language did you have in mind first? and while coding where does your motivation come from?

Motivation comes and goes. It's probably better to opt for discipline and a constant aim in life. Programming is simply part of my life now; like eating, sleeping, staying alive. It's harder to find a reason why I should not code.

I believe the idea is to duplicate the human mind, function by function, and further advance the human race through mini-AI's computational power combined with our precision metrics, and manufacturing scalability.

To earn money, to feed the family, to let computers do jobs I'm not willing to do by myself again and again, to feel damn clever and geeky ;-)

I was playing Tetris and I thought to myself, "There has to be a way to make this better." I started reading and the tried to make Tetris better. It wasn't that easy. So I learned how it worked then I wanted to know how other programs worked and then I wanted to make my own version. Now I can. BTW...Tetris is as good as it can be. Can't be improved lol.

The reason I decided to learn to code is because of my huge interest in technology. I just wanted to accomplish a life long dream of making a game. When I first decided to learn to code, I tried to learn C++, though I got bored and swapped to python, then to C#. My motivation comes from my imagination. I imagine the final product, and it motivates me to create the final product, just so I can play it. Coding opens a new world, a world where our only limitations is our engine, abilities, and hardware. But other than that, we're free! Want to make your mom fight a dragon with the head of your 3rd grade teacher? You can make it! Want to drop kick your school to the moon? You can make! Coding let's us make our life easier with programs, or tell others a story in a way they probably can't tell you a story. It let's you break through the boundaries, and go into the field beyond it, it let's you make a new world, with your own creations. Some cry when they make there first full game, they cry because they finally made a world with a story they've been refining for years, and I haven't made my first game yet, but I know I'll be one of those people.

For me: I started coding because I saw the huge problems were being faced with. With the hope that I could solve them. I started with Python and C. My motivation comes from flowing in an algorithm. Understanding the structure and path of another program and then it hits me: What to do.

It helps me to think more about the world around me and problems I face in every day life. Also, it calms me down and is a good hobby for me to have fun with. I loved it since about 3 years ago, and I still like the adopome I get when something I make works correctly. ^_^

at first when I started learning programming, my only reason was to become able to do algorithmic trading. but now when I think of it, I have started to see it as a art, a language, a way of expressing your ideas a way to make world a better and beautiful place to live in. I code to make human life more efficient and powerful....................... .....and ..... also to do algorithmic trading😉 .
