Is it the next BIG thing in coding. feel free to write whatever u think for I want to garner true opinions of the coder community.

if quantum computer holds what it promises, it certainly will be the next big thing. first and foremost (if i correctly understood quantum computers) one of the oldest problems in computer science becomes obsolete. Is P=NP?

it will shake our understanding of what is safe regarding encryption. it will shake our understanding of what is computable in reasonable time.
