What else besides sql is worth learning as far as data base. Is there any value to a certain vendor cert. More or less

Since datastreams become more and more varied and so less and less predictable, structures like hoMONGOus DataBases are becoming interesting :)

if you are good with SQL, go for ORACLE. its a very powerful system where you will be able to use your SQL knowledge and do much much more

Redis often used in certain systems as SQL alternative. I have seen some vacancies with it in list of requirements.

RDBMS has been around for quite some time now. But the future is in NO-SQL. Almost all upcoming projects nowadays are using these. Like MONGO DB or Cassandra
