Why is there a backslash in this apps img tag?

this app says that img requires a backslash <img/> but that's not true necessarily right?

No its not true the img code would be <img src= whatever url . So that asnwer is wrong

I know that it carries src. I was typing that way to save time. I'm just referring to this app having a backslash in the img tag. sublime text 3 doesn't carry a backslash when it auto fills my tags.
