Nah. Android uses Java. the only difference between java software and android app is the XML layout and android studio takes care of that for the most part. If you can program with Java, you can program android. My color picker for PC using Java- http://leakyegg.website.tk/RGB.zip My color picker for android- http://leakyegg.website.tk/RGB.apk I did the first one when I started learning Java. The second was when I decided to make an app and with no new learning I whipped out basically the same program.

Totally agree! Even though Android uses Java as main language, Android has its own API. Also, Android uses concepts as views, activities, services, contents... In my point, it would deserve a course to cover this
