personally, with Sololearn (& a ton of notes/coding practice/reading threads/trial & error) I'm learning to code in C++ without any other sources besides the code playground. It started as a new hobby to replace lack of sleep and a challenge from my teenaged son, but I feel like I'm succeeding.
I'll say this, there are a lot of apps out there that show promise, but Sololearn is totally user friendly for a nube, an experienced coder, and everyone in between. plus, it provides enough challenges to keep one coming back. just my opinion.

if they did they're some kind of prodigious sponge for information or just a beach bum with way too much time on his hands
now with all due respect to sololearn, I think with the badges and challenges they sort of want you to get addicted. every app needs a userbase.
but I woud try not to be the guy posting publicly, like aww yeah my bros you're never gonna believe but I just unlocked the coder badge. who cares?
there's only so far console apps and standardized challenges will carry you if you are doing absolutely nothing outside the app. kind of like someone who doesn't take notes or do the homework, they are ony gonna pass the final if theyre some kind of rare jujubu intj talent.
I've been trying to work on a project with some friends, and even at a more intermediate level, motivation is key. I swear were gonna be all old men sitting around a table at the pub stroking our bearss, like shit, why didn't we actually bang out that nutrition app when we had it in the works? damn us.

I start to learn code with the use of Sololearn. The only thing that is required is determination. When you have passion for a thing and you are determined to learn it at all cost, then you will go far.
