meh. depends on your target platform really (and the dollars in your pocket)

Say you want to publish only on xbox?
Do you just learn directX?

It is better I guess once you know what you are looking at when seeing source files.

But at first all that might (will) just confuse you and make the thought of learning to code seem really daunting.

So there are pros and cons.

It's entirely possible to use linux and never see a source file though so go figure.

Linux is better for everyone, so programmers too!
Linux is a synonym of freedom! Windows sucks and Mac OS X is a expensive jail.
