I'd say finish this course and start working with algorithms. Introduction to Algorithms (3rd edition) Thomas Cormen is a good book just have a decent math background too and everything will start piecing together, read it on lunch at work or just whenever you have spare time. C++ Programming by Derek Banas on Youtube is good video it's a little over an hour long. I started with the book The C Programming Language and its good but you want c++, they have The C++ Programming Language book also but I haven't checked it out but you can try it out too.
