How to get followers?

Question

Okay, I have 2 followers. I'm seeing members with 1000+ followers and I'm left wondering how/why?? There's not much encourage to code and post my programs if only two people are going to see it..
I've added my second complete program for emphasis.

people dont have to be followers to see your code ....

Hmm.... I saw some people changing their name into:

"[their name](follow me please)"

I don't know whether that helps though, but I saw some people doing it here.
