Understand is depend on how much time spend on that work. If you want to learn programming then you have spend time for programming. I knew a man who daily practice 12-13 hour for getting a job in google. After one year, he left that job. After left that job, he said that, "I learned for me, not for google". I hope, you will spend your time besides programming. (sorry for poor english).
