Does Challenges Get Harder?

The java challenges at first were good for practice but now there just redicliously stupid/hard. requiring you to do alot of math before the timer runs out. They don't even seem practical to java programming.

They definitely get more difficult. Some of the more math-based exercises might not seem to have practical uses, but tutorials and exercises like these as a whole don't represent "actual programming" anyway. So I don't think you'll lose anything by working hard toknow those things, because coding requires a very varied skill set, including logical thinking, math, creativity, patience and communication skills. Think of it like learning a new language in school. Let's sat French. Right now, you're going through the first book, learning how to memorize the usual sayings and repeating the basic pronunciations. You might even be able to travel to Paris and survive mostly without English, but those interactions are still short, impersonal and rehearsed. Je m'appelle Taija, indeed. But a spontaneous two hour conversation with a stranger about wild birds is a whole another thing, but you don't get there until you've stammered and consulted your phone countless times.

I agree! Wanted to post same "question". Java quizzes turned out to be a bunch of arithmetics mostly! :-( ...so sad. I don't feel them as hard, but some have not enough time for first time you are solving it (and you have to recognite sometimes enough lines to loose half of the time). Anyway it's not about Java! And it's too easy again. :-( Plus: that "rotating new question a lot" principle is making challenges boring...
