Swift is one of the best for this scope. but it should be many more tools that a programmer need?

Xcode should be your go to being native for swift in the Mac OS. Mac OS is written in Objective C but swift is an updated mix of C with classes similar to C++. Outside of Xcode I haven't heard of anything besides AppCode
