Why are most people focusing on the Ruby weapon challenge while C++ has the most learners?

Ruby us new.. People get more xp when they challenge each other.. As no of challenges played on that weapon is still less (compared to other languages)
On contrary.. C++ is quite old and gives +1xp for a win to high level(gold , plat) players.
So the natural choice is ruby...
