With Python you can build anything - in almost every dimension of programming. Sure, may not be too fast and all, but certainly will be fun to code and relatively easy to complete in a decent timeframe.

Do you have any kind of limitation to your project? A subject, a field?

Try developing a simple 3D game with OpenGL (pyglet module in Python, for example). It is pretty easy for such kind of a project, pretty spectacular for such kind of a project and pretty pretty for such kind of a project :)

Take a look, took me a weekend of studying documentation, watching and learning from two youtube videos and working out a concept ;)
